In 1989 EVA Air was established as one of Taiwan's first private
international airlines. In the 1990's EVA Air acquired shares in other
airlines Makung International Airlines, Great China Airlines and Taiwan
Airways. By 1998 all three carriers were merged under UNI Air taking
over EVA's domestic services. Now owned by a large shipping company
called the Evergreen Group, all EVA aircraft are painted green. EVA Air
is based at Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport near Taipei, Taiwan
and currently employs over 5000 people.
Destinations
Eva Air is a major Taiwanese airline operating passenger flights to
over 40 international destinations, as well as dedicated cargo

Super First Class
The Super First Class cabins on EVA Air's modern fleet are decorated in
tasteful, natural colours to help create an atmosphere of comfort.
Professional and attentive service begins as soon as you enter the
Super First Class cabin, where on entry guests are greeted with a glass
of fine champagne served in a crystal glass. Each row in the Super
First Class cabins are a generous 1.9m apart while individual seats are
deep and comfortable, with extendable leg rests. Each seat is equipped
with a personal armrest video system, putting control of in-flight
entertainment within arms reach. Super First Class service also allows
passengers to choose their own meal times to allow the enjoyment of
five-star meals at their own convenience and discretion.
Co-operatives
EVA is not part of any airline alliance however it does have broad
cooperative service arrangements with Air Canada, All Nippon Airways,
American Airlines, America West Airlines, Continental Airlines, and
QANTAS, as well as a joint-venture agreement with Air New Zealand. EVA
Air also has cargo agreements with British Airways and Lufthansa.
Evergreen Club
Evergreen Club is the frequent flyer program of EVA Air. Miles can be
earned even before enrolment into the Club and its is free to join for
anyone over the age of 2. Miles once earned are valid for up to 5
years. Members can earn bonus miles by flying with EVA's partner
airlines and using Evergreen Club program credit cards, as well as
through staying at EVA's partnership hotels, renting from partner car
rental agencies and other services provided by Evergreen Club partners.
With accumulated miles, members can apply for an upgrade at the airport
or electronic upgrade certificates. At the check-in counter,
Silver/Gold/Diamond card member can use their own mileage to invite
their companions to use EVA Air's VIP Lounges. Members of the Evergreen
Club can also redeem mileage to gain free tickets and free hotel
accommodation vouchers; Diamond Card members gain free upgrades by
using electronic upgrade certificates.
